When the first album “Soon It Will Be Cold Enough” by Emancipator (Douglas Appling), which he released at the age of 19, was discovered by japanese superproducer Nujabes one could have known how much potential there was to be found in this young musician. Today we can obviously see what some of us may not have already realised: The music by Emancipator is awesome, and his latest album “Dusk to Dawn” is proof for that. It was released yesterday under Loci Records and can be found on their bandcamp site.
The best thing to do is to take a good long walk in mother natuer before listening to this masterpiece to which you can dance, chill or dream.
Next to the coversong “Dusk to Dawn” “Minor Cause” and “Natural Cause” are our two favorite songs on the album.
